Burt Rutan is Right; Government Cannot Do Anything Correctly Not long ago Burt Rutan the famous aviation entrepreneur and test pilot made a comment about the bureaucracy in Washington D.C.. He was referring to NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration and several other agencies, when he said; government cannot do anything correctly. I have heard similar people of stature say similar things such as; government does nothing very well. However when these people talk they are mistaken in that government does do something very well; they waste the taxpayers money very well and they are very good at spending money. True they are not very efficient and they cannot get anything done right, but they do, do some things well such as spend our money. I think I believe Burt Rutan is closer to a proper statement about government when he said; government cannot do anything correctly. And since there are people who will argue with Burt Rutan even though he is correct in this regard I hereby challenge you to name one saying that the government does correctly. Name one thing? Can you name a single thing that the government can do correctly? I tell you what, I will give you two weeks; no, two months to come up with two things that the government does correctly. And since this is a gentleman’s bet; include your address so I can send you one dollar. But you can't name three on the two dollar bet? Consider this in 2006.
